RESOLUTION ACCEPTING UNCONDITIONAL GIFTS FROM FRIENDS OF THE DULUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE LIBRARY FOR 2023 AND 2024.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept the donation in 2023 of unconditional monetary gifts totaling $30,185 from the Friends of the Duluth Public Library for the use by the Duluth public library, said gifts have been deposited in fund no. 240-300-SG50-4660 (library special gifts, friends of library).
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept the donation of unconditional monetary gifts from the Friends of the Duluth Public Library during 2024 for the use by the Duluth public library, said gifts to be deposited in fund no. 240-300-SG50-4660 (library special gifts, friends of library).
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city hereby thanks the Friends of the Duluth Public Library for their generous gifts and continued support.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the acceptance of $30,185 in gifts made in 2023 and to accept time to time gifts in 2024 by the Friends of the Duluth Public Library, a volunteer organization. Friends of the Duluth Public Library supports the library in a variety of ways including memberships and the annual book sale, and the organization donates funds for the improvement of the library and library services.
