RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DULUTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (DEDA) TO DEMOLISH AND REMOVE A RAILROAD BRIDGE LOCATED ON DEDA’S PROPERTY OVER 37TH AVENUE WEST NEAR ONEOTA STREET IN WEST DULUTH, AT A COST TO BE REIMBURED BY DEDA.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the Duluth Economic Development Authority (DEDA), substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, to demolish and remove a railroad bridge on DEDA-owned property at a cost of not to exceed $130,000, to be reimbursed by DEDA to Fund 411-035-4263.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with the Duluth Economic Development Authority (DEDA) to demolish and remove a railroad bridge on DEDA-owned property, at no cost to the City.
Under the terms of the agreement, the City hired LHB to perform site survey, site plans, demolition details and project coordination/inspection, in an amount not to exceed $21,189.25. DEDA will pay LHB directly for the cost of the LHB services. City will be hiring a contractor to perform the demolition and removal of the bridge, in an amount not to exceed $108,810.75. City will be responsible to pay the contractor for the demolition work and receive reimbursement from DEDA for such costs. The total project costs shall not exceed $130,000.
The plans and specifications for the project are on file in the office of the City Engineer as City Project No. 1883.
