RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 2012 ROAD AND BRIDGE DISASTER RELIEF BOND GRANT AND ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE MINNESOTA STATE TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR THE OVERLAY OF 63rd AVENUE WEST FROM GRAND AVENUE TO CODY STREET IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,085.48.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth has applied to the commissioner of transportation for a grant from the Minnesota state transportation fund for the overlay of 63rd Avenue West from Grand Avenue to Cody Street, city project no. 1037.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the grant has been approved and that the amount of the grant is $62,085.48.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth agrees to the terms and conditions of the grant consistent with Minnesota Statutes, Section 174.50, subdivision 5, clause (3), and will pay any additional amount by which the cost exceeds the estimate, and will return to the Minnesota state transportation fund any amount appropriated for the project but not required. The proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement concerning the above referenced grant. Grant monies shall be deposited into Disaster Recovery Fund 225, Department/Agency 125 (Finance), Division 1803 (Roads and Bridges), Object 5403 (Street Repair and Maintenance), city project no. 1037, S.A.P. 118-103-006, flood site no. 144a.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for a construction grant in the amount of $62,085.48 for the overlay of 63rd Avenue West from Grand Avenue to Cody Street, city project no. 1037, S.A.P. 118-103-006. This project was constructed under a state aid force account agreement by city of Duluth staff.
