CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that contract 30707 with LHB, Inc. for professional engineering services for the 1st Avenue East Reconstruction Project from Superior Street to 3rd Street, be amended (see Exhibit A) to include additional design services for structural design, street lighting construction inspection, and construction material testing, and to increase the amount by $67,310.00 for a new total of $786,340.00 payable from Street Improvement Program Fund 440, Department 038 (Special Assessment Contracts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), City project no. 2100.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution amends contract 30707 with LHB, Inc. by an estimated amount of $67,310. This amendment is necessary due to additional design work required by the City and to add construction materials testing to the construction administration scope of the contract. The majority of the construction was completed last year, but some minor work remains this summer. City water, sanitary sewer, steam, hot water, storm water, street lighting, and City street sales tax funds will all be used for the project. The additional engineering will use budgeted capital funds payable from Street Improvement Program Fund 440, Department 038 (Special Assessment Contracts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), City project no. 2100.
