RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF RICE LAKE FOR PAVING A PORTION OF AUSTIN STREET IN THE AMOUNT OF UP TO $20,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with the city of Rice Lake to reimburse Rice Lake for paving the Duluth side of Austin Street from Ewing Avenue to Kolstad Avenue at a cost of not to exceed $20,000, payable from city fund no. 290-500-5535 (Street System Maintenance Utility, Public Works and Utilities, Non-Capital Improvements).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize an agreement with the city of Rice Lake to reimburse them for paving the city of Duluth side of Austin Street from Ewing Avenue to Kolstad Avenue at a cost to the city of up to $20,000.
Austin Street lies along the border between Rice Lake and Duluth and is in need of reconstruction. Rice Lake has agreed to grade and repave the entire street including the half that is Duluth’s responsibility in return for being reimbursed for the cost of the Duluth share of the costs. This agreement would implement that agreement.
