CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Veit & Company Inc. for the Lead Service Line Replacement - Spirit Valley project for a total amount not to exceed $5,960,738.00, payable from fund 510-500-1905-5533; UtilB-2321 (water; Public Works and Utilities; capital (incl deprec/debt svc); capital improvements - revenue; utility projects budgeted; LSLR Spirit Valley). City project number 2321.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize construction of the Lead Service Line Replacement - Spirit Valley project by Veit & Company Inc. for a total amount not to exceed $5,960,738.00. The project will replace 433 public and private lead water services, install 7 water main extensions, and provide surface restoration in the Fairmount Neighborhood. Veit & Company Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the four companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $8,000,00.00. All project costs will be reimbursed by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority. If the City does not receive funding from the MPFA, the project will be put on hold.
