RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR REAL PROPERTY IN THE DULUTH HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD FOR HIGHWAY PURPOSES, WHICH PROPERTY IS NO LONGER NEEDED BY THE STATE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept the conveyance of real property legally described on the quit claim deed attached as Exhibit A from the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, for highway purposes, at no cost to the city.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to accept the conveyance of certain real property from the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation (“MnDOT”), for highway purposes. The acceptance of the real property and subsequent filing of this resolution and the quit claim deed will effectuate the conveyance of property from the State of Minnesota to the City of Duluth (“City”).
MnDOT acquired several parcels of land near Trinity Road, which is a portion of State Highway 53, for highway purposes, but no longer needs several of the parcels. The City would like to acquire the parcels for road and utility purposes. The parcels conveyed to the City are depicted on the map attached as Exhibit B.
