CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Duluth directs the Public Works and Utilities Department to physically close 92nd Avenue West between Idaho Street and Hilton Street.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution orders the closure of 92nd Avenue West between Idaho Street and Hilton Street.
92nd Ave. West had been closed several years ago, informally, due to complaints that the street was used for illegal dumping of rubbish. Street Maintenance requested that the 400-foot segment be formally closed in order to prevent future dumping, and to save on street maintenance costs. If and until the road is needed for future development to the east for access, we recommend the road be closed. If the road is needed in the future for access, the city will remove the closure.
We contacted the city Fire Marshal, and the fire department has no objection to the road closure.
