CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that contract L30164 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Lift Station 15 relocation project be amended to include the additional design services per the attached change order which were not included in the scope of the original contract, and to increase the amount by an estimated $123,600 for a new total of $694,592, payable from Sanitary Sewer Fund 530, Department 500 (Public Works & Utilities), Division 1905 (Capital), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements), city project no. 1803. All costs will be fully reimbursed by MnDOT as part of the Twin Ports Interchange project per MnDOT agreement 1032661/City of Duluth 23584, Resolution 18-0740R.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution amends contract L30164 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. by an estimated amount of $123,600. This amendment is necessary due to the change in scope of service per the attached change order request. This relocation is necessary as part of MnDOT’s Twin Ports Interchange project and will involve construction of a new lift station and demolition of the existing lift station. Federal funds will be used for construction. Due to the complexity of bidding a federally funded project, the city requested the services of a consultant engineer.
