Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, the city council approved $301,000 as an operating subsidy to The Greater Downtown Council in resolution 24-0918R passed on December 9, 2024 that appropriated the estimated 2025 hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement 24886, substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, with The Greater Downtown Council, for an increase of $65,000 and a new amount of $301,000 for the year 2025 and a new total of the three-year agreement of $773,000, payable from 258-030-5436-10; (tourism taxes, finance, tourism tax allocations, business improvement district).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to agreement 24886 with The Greater Downtown Council for a one-time, additional funding allocation to support the final year of additional city funding for the Outreach Specialist Program.

This amendment increases the funds from $236,000 to $301,000 in 2025 and does not change the annual amount of $236,000 for calendar years 2026 and 2027.

This amendment is funded by tourism tax collections and may be reduced or terminated if insufficient proceeds are derived from hotel-motel and food and beverage tourism taxes.
