CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase three ford F-250 pickup trucks from Midway Ford for the amount of $160,921.11, payable from funds: 250-015-2026-5580 (capital equipment, Public Administration, fiscal year 2026, capital equipment street maintenance).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of three Ford F-250 Crew Cab pickup trucks from Midway Ford for the amount of $160,921.11.
This purchase is budgeted for in 2026 Capital Equipment Plan. The 2014-2015 Fleet Study found that, in order to minimize total City vehicle costs for purchase and maintenance, vehicles of this kind should be replaced before they reach 10 years in service. This purchase will replace unit 3223 2008 Ford F250, 8955 2007 Chevrolet 2500, and 8956 2008 Ford F250. These units, being 18 and 19 years in service are far past their useful life with bodies rusting beyond repair. The three existing units will be sold at public auctions.
