CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to purchase one Bonnell Commander single axle plow truck body builds from Bert’s Truck Equipment for the amount of $247,941.00, payable from fund 250-015-2026-5580 CE250-V2605 (capital equipment; public administration; fiscal year 2026; capital equipment street maintenance).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of one Bonnell single axle plow truck hook body builds from Bert’s Truck Equipment for the amount of $247,941.00 per MN state contract S-863(5) contract number 267385. This purchase is budgeted for in 2026 Capital Equipment Plan. This unit has an interchangeable body which allows the City to remove the snow plow and body, and attach a hooklift patch insert for use in the summer. This will allow this unit to be use year-round instead of sitting in storage for the warmer seasons.
The 2014-2015 Fleet Study found that, in order to minimize total City vehicle costs for purchase and maintenance, vehicles of this kind should be replaced before they reach 10 years old. This purchase is the body builds (combines with RQ 2026-99446) for the chassis replacing unit 3447 which was purchased in 2014 with maintenance accumulating 167% of the original purchase price. This units will be sold at public auction.
