RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT 22364 WITH CARDNO, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE STREAM RESTORATION OF MILLER CREEK, AN INCREASE OF $6,000, AND AN AMENDED TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED $82,600.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend Agreement 22364 with Cardno, Inc., substantially in the form of that attached as Exhibit A, for additional professional services for labor and expenses related to FEMA video and support, and a permit fee.  This is an agreement increase of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000), and an amended total not to exceed Eighty-Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($82,600), payable from Disaster Recovery Fund 225; Finance 125; Parks, Recreation & Other 1807; Other Professional Services 5319; Project: FLOOD-307 - Flood - June 2012, Lincoln Park.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an amendment to Agreement 22364 with Cardno, Inc., for additional services to include a permit application fee and development of a video of the project site; resulting in an increase of $6,000, and an amended total not to exceed $82,600.

In February the city requested Cardno’s support to develop a video of the project site at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in order to facilitate the approval by FEMA of the proposed (and city-preferred) design. The video and supporting materials allowed FEMA to submit the project to the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (MNSHPO).

Cardno also paid for the permit application fee for the project through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) Minnesota Permitting and Reporting System to keep the project schedule on track for construction.

The original agreement was presented to and approved by City Council on November 24, 2014; Resolution No. 14-0581R.
