RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY & FACILITIES MANAGER.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of property & facilities manager (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on November 1, 2016, are approved; that said classification shall remain subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees, that the pay range will change to Pay Range 1125-1135, pay rate of $6,339 to $8,327 per month, from Pay Range 1115-1130, pay rate of $6,210 to $8,012 per month.  The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement with the union to provide for employing one or more unit members consistent with this resolution.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The existing classification of property & facilities manager has been revised to incorporate language to support the addition of and responsibility for the parks maintenance division based on the recent organizational realignment moving the park maintenance division under the property & facilities manager.  This change was made to strengthen parks and grounds service and planning, optimize service to the community, and enhance workplace coordination.  The pay rate negotiated for this classification is Pay Range 1125-1135, pay rate of $6,339 to $8,327 per month.  This is a change from Pay Range 1115-1130, pay rate of $6,210 to $8,012 per month.
