RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND MNDOT FOR FEDERAL PARTICIPATION IN CONSTRUCTION.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 161.36, the commissioner of transportation be appointed as agent of the city of Duluth to accept, as its agent, federal aid funds which may be made available for eligible transportation related projects.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the commissioner of transportation, a copy of which is hereby attached as Exhibit A, prescribing the terms and conditions of said federal aid participation as set forth and contained in Minnesota Department of Transportation agency agreement no. 1029940.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to enter into an agreement with the state of Minnesota Department of Transportation to receive federal funds for construction improvement or enhancement of transportation projects financed either in whole or in part by federal funds. This agreement is intended to cover all of the city of Duluth’s federally funded projects, and supersedes Agreement 99887, which was executed in 2011.
