RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO A MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES LAKE SUPERIOR COASTAL PROGRAM GRANT SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT OF A PARK POINT RECREATION AREA PLAN.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

WHEREAS, resolution 23-0977R authorized the proper City officials to accept a $75,000 Lake Superior Coastal Program grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to support development of a Park Point Recreation Area Plan; and

WHEREAS, the planning process is underway and additional time is needed to complete the final plan document, engage with the community, and bring the plan through the approval process;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to accept and execute the first amendment, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, to the Lake Superior Coastal Program Grant Agreement, City contract number C24835, with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the development of a Park Point Recreation Area Plan to extend the term of the agreement to June 30, 2026.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes the first amendment, substantially in the form of Exhibit A, to the grant agreement (City contract No. C24835) with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the development of a Park Point Recreation Area Plan to extend the term of the agreement to June 30, 2026.

The amendment does not change the total funds awarded ($75,000), rather it provides additional time to complete the plan document, engage with community members, and to better accommodate the necessary plan approval process.
