RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH, CENTER FOR ALCOHOL AND DRUG TREATMENT (CADT), AND JEFFREY R. MAAHS, PHD., FOR THE FY 2020 COMPREHENSIVE OPIOID STIMULANT AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM (COSSAP) AWARD FOR CADT TO PROVIDE A GRADUATE LICENSED SOCIAL WORKER AND ONE TREATMENT BED FOR A TOTAL SUM NOT TO EXCEED $101,611.00.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a second amendment to the agreement between the City of Duluth, Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT), and Jeffrey R. Maahs, PHD., for the FY 2020 Comprehensive Opioid Stimulant and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) award providing for the reimbursement of certain costs not to exceed the total sum of $101,611 for CADT to provide a graduate licensed social worker and one treatment bed in the Pathfinder Unit at CADT; said second amendment to be substantially the same as the attached Document A. Fees for CADT to be taken from fund no. 215-200-2232-5319 (Duluth police grant programs, police, 2020 Opioid Abuse Program (COSSAP), other professional services).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute a second amendment to the agreement between the City of Duluth, the Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT), and Jeffrey R. Maahs, PHD., for the FY 2020 Comprehensive Opioid Stimulant and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) award. This amendment will provide grant reimbursement monies to CADT for providing a graduate licensed social worker to work with the Substance Use Response Team to reduce opioid and methamphetamine-related deaths and provide related services. CADT will also provide one treatment bed in their Pathfinder Unit. These services will be provided during year three of the grant award period and the total sum paid to CADT for these services shall not exceed $101,611.00.
