Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This planning grant will provide funding to develop a comprehensive surface water management plan for the Brewery Creek Watershed. The plan will include streams/wetlands, as well as built infrastructure, including the network of stormwater conveyance structures, and stormwater treatment and detention systems. It will also study ways to improve water quality and increase stormwater detention in the watershed. This is especially crucial for neighborhoods near Brewery Creek because of the historic stormwater tunnel system conveying the stream. These neighborhoods have been identified as Environmental Justice areas, highlighting the importance of equitable access to clean water and environmental resources.
