ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE FORMER ST. PETER’S CHURCH, 810 WEST THIRD STREET, AS A DULUTH HISTORIC LANDMARK (JEFFREY T. LARSON).

CITY PROPOSAL:

The city of Duluth does ordain:

                     Section 1. Under the authority of Section 50-37.8 of the Duluth Legislative Code, 1959, as amended, the city of Duluth does designate the former St. Peter’s Church, 810 West Third Street, as a Duluth Historic Preservation Landmark (PL 15-175).

                     Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its passage.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This ordinance designates the former St. Peter’s Church as a historic landmark. The stone church was built between 1925 and 1927 in the area known as “Little Italy.” After consultation with the planning commission, the heritage preservation commission voted unanimously on January 26, 2016, to recommend approval of this nomination.
