RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract, substantially in the format attached as Exhibit A, with RW Fern Associates, Inc. - AIA Architects for architectural services for the design of City Hall interior renovations and departmental space planning for an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, Six Hundred Fifty and no/100 dollars ($156,650.00), payable from Capital Improvements 450, Stimulus Act (ARRA) 025, Buildings & Structures (5520); Project: CP2009-0929b - 2009 Capital Projects, City Hall remodeling.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract for the departmental space planning and architectural services for the interior renovations of City Hall.

This contract will complete the space planning and design necessary to create biddable construction documents to improve and reorganize office areas and locations on City Hall floors 1 through 3. Currently, the first phase of renovations are taking place on the 4th floor, and this contract will complete the second phase of City Hall improvements utilizing remaining funds from the Public Safety Building construction bonds.

The project consists of the reorganization and light remodeling of office areas to better meet the needs of City departments located in the building, and to improve customer service by relocating key "public facing" departments from upper floors to the ground floor in order to better serve the public. This is not a major remodel, but instead will consist of updating interior office spaces, re-cabling floors 1 through 3 to accommodate updated IT infrastructure, and creating customer interface elements such as service desks and security improvem...
