RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,219.67 FROM THE NORTHEAST MINNESOTA REGIONAL RADIO BOARD FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO RADIO CONTROL STATIONS AND 60 RADIOS FOR THE CITY OF DULUTH PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITIES AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENTS.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a grant agreement substantially in the form of attached Exhibit A from the Northeast Minnesota Regional Radio Board (State of Minnesota Homeland Security Grant Pass-Through) in the amount of $83,219.67, with said funds to be deposited in Fund 210-030-3162-4210-02 (special projects, finance, state Homeland Security program grant, pass-through federal grant) for the purchase of two radio control stations and 60 radios for the city of Duluth public works and utilities and public administration departments, and committing $83,219.67 as the city’s local share cost of said grant, to be paid from Fund 250-015-2016-5580 CE250-E1604 (capital equipment, public administration, fiscal year 2016, capital equipment).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes acceptance of a grant in the amount of $83,219.67 from the Northeast Minnesota Regional Radio Board. A copy of the grant agreement between the Northeast Regional Emergency Communications Board and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the NEECB ECN Budget approving the award to the city are attached. The city’s local share of the project cost will be $83,219.67.
