CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with A Plus Landscaping, LLC, for the cleanup of recreational trails including the Nordic Ski Trail, snowmobile trails, and Old Hartley Road, in the amount of $85,519, payable from General Fund 110; Public Administration 121; Maintenance Operations 1217; Park Maintenance 2145; Contract Services 5310; Project: Storm 16 - Wind Storm July 21, 2016.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution awards a contract to A Plus Landscaping, LLC, for the cleanup of fallen trees, leaning trees, and wood debris from the Nordic ski trails, snowmobile trails, and Old Hartley Road per the map attached as Exhibit A, in the amount of $85,519.
On July 21, 2016, a storm swept through the Duluth area with straight line winds putting timber blowdown and woody debris onto and over City recreational trails. Damage was concentrated on the Eastern side of town in and between the trail systems of primarily Hartley Park, Hartley Nature Center, Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, and Lester Amity Park.
The Purchasing Division posted a request for bids to the City’s website on July 29, 2016, and received three bids by the closing date. After reviewing each bid, it was determined that A Plus Landscaping, LLC, submitted the lowest complete bid and was the lowest responsible bidder. Bid summary attached as Exhibit B.
