CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Sylvester Custom Grinding, to grind approximately 45,000 cubic yards of wood debris and deliver to Minnesota Power’s Hibbard Renewable Energy Center, for an estimated amount of $71,676, payable from General Fund 110; Public Administration 121; Maintenance Operations 1217; Park Maintenance 2145; Contract Services 5310; Project: Storm16-Wind Storm July 21, 2016.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes a contract with Sylvester Custom Grinding, to tub grind approximately 45,000 cubic yards of material at one or more designated collection points and transport the grindings to Minnesota Power’s Hibbard Renewable Energy Center, with a grinding machine hourly rate of $429, a truck driver hourly rate of $114, and an estimated 132 hours of work, for a total estimated contract amount of $71,676.

 

The Purchasing Division posted a request for bids on the City’s website on August 1, 2016, and received three bids by the closing date. After reviewing all bids, it was determined that Sylvester Custom Grinding had the lowest complete bid. Bid summary is attached as Exhibit A.
