RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE MINNEAPOLIS-DULUTH/SUPERIOR PASSENGER RAIL ALLIANCE AMENDING THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT TO INCLUDE THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE AS A FULL VOTING MEMBER.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, Resolution 08-0080 authorized the city of Duluth to entered into a joint powers agreement establishing the Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior passenger rail alliance with the communities along the proposed rail corridor; and
WHEREAS, the city of Cambridge, Minnesota is located along the proposed rail corridor and wishes to join the alliance.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to approve an agreement for membership in the Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior passenger rail alliance, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, and amend the joint powers agreement establishing the Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior passenger rail alliance, to add the city of Cambridge, Minnesota as a full voting member of the alliance.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the proper city officials to approve an agreement for membership in the Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior passenger rail alliance amending the joint powers agreement establishing the Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior passenger rail alliance to include the city of Cambridge, Minnesota.
