Title

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT NO. 22798 WITH ST. LOUIS COUNTY FOR THE ARROWHEAD ROAD/KENWOOD AVENUE AND WEST CLEVELAND STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 FOR A NEW TOTAL OF $210,000.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 22798 between St. Louis County and the city of Duluth to provide for payment by the county to the city for the county’s share of the Arrowhead Road/Kenwood Avenue and West Cleveland Street signal improvement project be amended in the amount of $75,000 for a new total of $210,000.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  Resolution 16-0132, passed on March 14, 2016, authorized an agreement with St. Louis County to collect the county’s share of the costs for the signal improvements to the Arrowhead Road and Kenwood Avenue intersection associated with the Kenwood Village project.  The county has one “leg” of the intersection, which is the northbound Kenwood Avenue/Howard Gnesen Road.  The scope of the project was expanded to include pavement improvements.  The pavement improvements were included in Amendment No. 1.  This amendment increases the amount of Agreement No. 22798 in the amount of $75,000 for a new total of $210,000.  The increase is due to the additional cost to increase the pavement thickness on the county road per the county’s request and to reflect the actual bid prices.  Funds to be deposited into Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 4260 (St. Louis County), city project no. 1468.
