Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend the agreement with TKDA, for the additional survey and engineering work required to add more accessible trail into the project, in an amount not to exceed Eleven Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty-Two dollars and no/100th ($11,652.00), resulting in a total agreement cost not to exceed Forty-Five Thousand, Two Hundred Four and no/100th ($45,204.00), payable from Tourism & Recreation Projects 452; Finance 030; Improvements Other Than Buildings 5530; Project: HANDHTAX-0501-02 - Half & Half Tax Projects, Western Waterfront Trail Renewal.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an increase to agreement C22524, for additional trail design services required to create an accessible design for portions of the trail, both north and east of Kingsbury Creek to 63rd Avenue West, as well as from the campground to Spring Street.

This additional design is for areas of existing trail to be upgraded to meet the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) standards for accessibility.  This design work will allow Dirt Inc., the contractor currently working on the Western Waterfront Trail Rehabilitation project, to provide construction costs for the changes.  These changes would then be incorporated into the existing construction contract via a change order.
