RESOLUTION PROPOSING THE SUM TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION FOR THE SPECIAL PARKS FUND LEVY FOR THE YEAR 2017.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sec. 275.065, the city council adopts the following proposed tax levy:
Section 1. That sum to be raised by taxation for the year 2017 for the special parks fund levy is hereby determined to be the sum of $2,600,000 which sum is levied against the taxable property of the city of Duluth and appropriated to the various accounts as set forth in the following section:
Section 2. That pursuant to Ordinance 10134, approved by voter referendum on November 9, 2011, pursuant to the authority contained in Laws of Minnesota 1953, Chapter 560, Section 1, there will be levied for the parks fund the sum of $2,600,000.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution sets the proposed tax levy for the year 2017 for the parks fund levy. Ordinance 10134, approved by voter referendum on November 9, 2011, created a dedicated parks fund and special levy in the amount of $2.6 million per year to be utilized for parks and recreation purposes only.
