RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ONE ROOF COMMUNITY HOUSING FOR THE TENANT LANDLORD CONNECTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the One Roof Community Housing, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, to fund the Tenant Landlord Connection in the amount of $40,000 from the general fund as follows:
Department 700 - Transfers and other functions $40,000
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city’s funding in the amount of $40,000 is contingent upon a $20,000 match from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that a funder’s review will take place in November 2016 after the implementation of these funds.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a $40,000 agreement for the Tenant Landlord Connection operated by One Roof Community Housing. The city and One Roof Community Housing must enter into a funding agreement before the funds are utilized. The city’s funding in the amount of $40,000 is contingent upon a $20,000 match from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth. The funder’s review will be happening in November of this year.
The Tenant Landlord Connection will provide resources that will prevent homelessness including education, mediation, sample letters, referrals, and information to both renters and landlords, and encourage the exercise of accountability and responsibility by all parties.
