RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF UTILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of utility operations supervisor (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on October 4, 2016, are approved. This classification shall remain subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees and compensated at Pay Range 1080-1095, $5,293 to $6,927 per month.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The existing classification of utility operations supervisor was revised to clarify the supervisory hierarchy in the public works & utilities department. The updates are also intended to increase the potential promotional candidate pool as the previous requirements for this position did not fully represent the current workforce and what is required of this position. There is no change in the rate of pay, which remains Pay Range 1080-1095, $5,293 to $6,927 per month.
