RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY & EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of property & evidence technician (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on October 4, 2016, are approved. This classification shall remain subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees and compensated at Pay Range 24, $3,251 to $3,796 per month.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The existing classification of property & evidence technician was revised to update the education & experience requirements and include the option of a degree in law enforcement, in order to attract a broader pool of applicants. There is no change in the rate of pay, which remains Pay Range 24, $3,251 to $3,796 per month.
