CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to extend the agreement and increase the amount payable to Ever-Green Energy for additional design services for the hot water piping between the Duluth Energy Systems plant and Superior Street in the amount of thirty-nine thousand dollars and zero cents ($39,000.00), resulting in a total contract price of one hundred thirty-eight thousand, four hundred fifty-seven dollars and zero cents ($138,457.00), payable from Steam Fund 540, Department 920 (Steam Account), Division 1499 (Steam Non-Operating), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1525.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Design for the hot water district heating system's hot water piping along Superior Street is currently included in the scope of the overall Superior Street project design. Resolution No. 16-0426R authorized agreement no. C22890 to be awarded to Ever-Green Energy, Inc. to provide hot water system details to LHB for incorporation into the project drawing and specification set. The design for the hot water piping between the Duluth Energy Systems plant and Superior Street is not currently included in the scope of the Superior Street design contracts.

This resolution authorizes the addition of the design of the hot water piping between the Duluth Energy Systems plant and Superior Street to the Ever-Green Energy agreement and an increase in funding in the amount of $39,000 for the additional work.
Completion of this design and bid specifications in early 2017 will allow a construction contract to be awarded for the completion of this pipe installation along Michigan Street in the fall of 2017, subject to legislative funding approval, thereby allowing the City to keep...
