RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DULUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY’S STRATEGIC PLAN FOR 2016-2020.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the Duluth public library has engaged the community in a public strategic planning process over the last year; and
WHEREAS, Duluth citizens provided input on library services and how library services impacted important community needs and goals; and
WHEREAS, based on community input, the Duluth public library’s strategic planning team identified service goals and strategies for the next five years and the library board approved the strategic plan for 2016-2020, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
RESOLVED, that the city council approves the Duluth public library’s strategic plan 2016-2020.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution approves the Duluth public library’s strategic plan for 2016-2020. The plan identifies five goals and affirms the library’s mission of promoting the love of reading and life-long discovery by helping children be school ready, strengthening the library’s capacity, increasing opportunity for staff to teach and inspire users, better serving community needs and raising public awareness of the library to increase the use of the range of services.
