CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Taser International Inc. for the purchase of Axon camera assemblies and accessories in the amount of One Hundred Fourteen Thousand, Eight Hundred Sixteen and 96/100 Dollars ($114,816.96), payable from Capital Equipment Fund 250; Public Administration Dept. 015; Fiscal Year 2017; Capital Equipment 5580; Project CE250-E1714 - Capital Equipment Fund 250, Digital Media Conversion.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of one hundred (100) Axon camera assemblies, nine (9) Axon docking stations, various accessories, licensing and storage from Taser International, Inc. The quote also includes four (4) spare cameras and sample mounts at no additional cost.
The Duluth Police Department began implementing the use of body cameras in 2014. This purchase will bring the current program to full deployment for all 154 sworn employees for one year.
This purchase is against Minnesota State Contract Release T-733(5), Swift contract number 88917.
