RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN ST. LOUIS COUNTY AND THE CITY OF DULUTH TO COMPLETE A SIDEWALK PROJECT WITHIN THE CITY OF DULUTH.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement between St. Louis County and the city of Duluth, substantially in the form attached hereto as exhibit A, to provide for payment by the city to the county of the city’s share of costs of the sidewalk project on Mulberry Street from Arlington Avenue to the Duluth Heights Recreation Center, at an estimated cost to the city of Duluth of $40,000. Project costs payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411-035-5530 PI 2017-1618 (PI Fund, Capital Projects, Improvements Other Than Buildings), city project no. 1618.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with St. Louis County to pay the city’s share of the cost to install a sidewalk on Mulberry Street. St. Louis County is performing similar sidewalk work on Arlington Avenue and offered to bid this city work together for cost efficiencies. Both the city and the county have made pedestrian improvements a priority, and this project is a good example of working together to make improvements with limited resources. The total estimated cost for the city’s share is $40,000, payable from Permanent Improvement funds.
