RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE PAY RANGE FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF UTILITY SERVICES SPECIALIST APPRENTICE (USSA).

 

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the pay range for the existing civil service classification of utility services specialist apprentice, the specifications for which were approved by the city council on August 10, 2015, as resolution no. 15-4442R (attached as Exhibit A), are approved; that said classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees, that pay range will change from Pay Range 26A-30, pay rate of $3,609 to $4,990 per month, to Pay Range 28A-31, pay rate of $3,910 to $5,177 per month.  The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement with the union to provide for employing one or more unit members consistent with this resolution.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The pay rate for the existing classification of USSA was revised to align with recent revisions to the utility services specialist journeyperson classification pay range and reduce compression issues to other positions within the customer service division.  The pay rate negotiated for this classification is Pay Range 28A-31, pay rate of $3,910 to $5,177 per month.  This is a change from Pay Range 26A-30, pay rate of $3,609 to $4,990 per month.
