CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Donald Holm Construction Company, Inc. for the Park Point Beach House North Wall Replacement for a total amount not to exceed $182,706.00, payable from fund no. 205-130-1220-5520 Project: cm205-ppbech (Parks Fund; Community Resources; Parks Capital; Buildings & Structures; Park Point Beach House).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Donald Holm Construction Company, Inc. for the Park Point Beach House North Wall Replacement for an amount not to exceed $182,706.00.
The north wall of the Beach House faces Lake Superior and often endures extreme weather conditions. These conditions, along with deferred maintenance, have allowed water to penetrate the building envelope. There are decayed and saturated sheathing boards, structural framing members, and windows. These conditions have stained the materials, resulting in mildew and possibly mold. Replacing the wall is environmentally and structurally necessary.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on January 27, 2017, and received four bids as listed below. Donald Holm Construction Company, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
