RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to purchase of one triple combination fire pumper truck from Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc., for a total amount of $548,000, payable from fund 250-015-2017-5580 Project: CE250-V1701 (Capital Equipment; Public Administration; Fiscal Year 2017; Capital Equipment; Capital Equipment Fund 250, Fire Department Vehicles)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of one (1) triple combination fire pumper truck from Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. (Custom Fire), in the amount of $548,000, payable from the capital equipment fund. This purchase is tax exempt for the fire department and will replace Fire Truck Unit # 7 Engine.
The purchasing division posted a request for bids on February 19, 2016, on the city’s website. Bidders were required to state that they would hold their bid price for one year from date of purchase to allow the Fire Department the opportunity to purchase additional unit(s) at the low bid price. Three bids were received by the closing date and referred to the fire department’s apparatus committee. The committee recommended that the purchase be awarded to the low bidder, Custom Fire. City Council approved the award on April 11, 2016. This will be an additional purchase from that award.
