RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DULUTH TRAVERSE MINI MASTER PLAN AND AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE GREATER MINNESOTA REGIONAL PARKS AND TRAILS COMMISSION TO REQUEST REGIONAL TRAIL DESIGNATION FOR THE DULUTH TRAVERSE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth hereby approves the Duluth Traverse Mini Master Plan attached hereto as exhibit A, and approves the city's filing of the plan to Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails Commission as application for regional trail designation for the Duluth Traverse.
FURTHER RESOLVED, the city of Duluth has the legal authority to act as public sponsor for the application described in the request for designation as a regional trail in greater Minnesota for the Duluth Traverse.
FURTHER RESOLVED, the city of Duluth is fully aware of the information provided in the application.
FURTHER RESOLVED, if the city of Duluth is awarded regional designation for the Duluth Traverse as a regional trail in greater Minnesota by the commission, the city of Duluth has the legal authority to enter into formal designation and funding agreements with the Commission for the referenced trail.
FURTHER RESOLVED, the city of Duluth certifies it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations associated with regional designation and any future grant funding for its respective portions of any project.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution approves the Duluth Traverse Mini Master Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit A, and implementation thereof as funding becomes available. The plan also authorizes application to the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission to request regional trail designation for the Duluth Traverse. Regional trail designation would make the project eligible for funding from the Legacy Amendment Parks and Trails grant program.
