CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) for professional engineering and wetland delineation services for the Grand Avenue Nordic Ski Center Final Design, for a total amount not to exceed $60,700, payable from 452-030-5530, HANDHTAX-1506 (Tourism & Recreational Projects - Finance - Improvements Other than Buildings, Half & Half Tax Projects, Lower Spirit Nordic).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with SEH for professional engineering and wetland delineation services for the Grand Avenue Nordic Center.
This project is part of the Grand Avenue Nordic Center mini-master plan and the update to the Sprit Mountain master plan approved under resolution 15-0385R to develop a regional center of activity for cross country skiing with a dependable extended-season venue for recreational skiing, youth activities, and regional high school events.
SEH's services will include wetland delineation and associated wetland impact permits, preparation of technical trail construction plans and specifications to be used for bidding purposes, a drainage report and drainage system plan, surveying and field staking for construction, and the preparation of an erosion control plan for the Grand Avenue Nordic Center Trail project at Spirit Mountain.
Upon thorough investigation of potential consultants for this project, the Parks and Recreation Division determined that SEH has, within their firm, the design and environmental engineering experience necessary to successfully provide the scope of services required for this project.
