CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with Prairie Restorations, Inc. for DWP site restoration, specifically invasive species removal, seeding and planting services, for a total amount not to exceed $175,950.00, payable from 255-020-5441 (Economic Development - Planning - Other Services & Charges).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Prairie Restoration, Inc. for invasive species removal, seeding and planting services.
The City received grant funding from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through the US Forest Service to protect St. Louis River water quality. The overall project will protect water quality in the streams that flow into the St. Louis River by enhancing the soils in the DWP roundhouse area, a former industrial site, then restoring native vegetation on the site.
Purchasing issued an Invitation for Bids on March 31, 2017, and received two bids. The project manager worked with the low bidder, Prairie Restorations, to value engineer the project to fall within current budget parameters as indicated below:
