RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT 1 TO RESOLUTION 16-0003R AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH SEH, INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES TO PROVIDE DESIGN ENGINEERING FOR THE CONGDON BOULEVARD RECLAMATION PROJECT, TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT BY $39,255 FOR A NEW TOTAL OF $126,255.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that Contract 22751 with SEH, Inc. for professional engineering services to provide design engineering for the Congdon Boulevard reclamation project in the amount of $87,000, be amended by $39,255 for a new total of $126,255, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), and reimbursed by Municipal State Aid funds, city project no. 1035.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution will authorize Amendment 1 to contract 22751 with SEH, Inc. for professional engineering service services to perform design engineering of Congdon Boulevard reclamation along the Congdon Boulevard lakeshore, from 7811 Congdon Boulevard to approximately McQuade Safe Harbor, increasing the contract amount by $39,255 for a new total of $126,255.  This increase is necessary due to the additional design tasks and added construction staking.

The project involves milling of the existing pavement, widening to accommodate bike lanes, guard rail replacement and placement of new bituminous.  The finished project will complete the gap yet to be improved on the Grandma’s Marathon route.  St. Louis and Lake Counties recently made improvements to their portions.
