Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution is to finalize the 2017 ESG Program portion of the Community Development program.  The city budgeted $199,500 for the FY 2017 HUD award to the ESG Program in Resolution 16-0887R.  The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2017 ESG allocation on June 15, 2017 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. The award letter from HUD awarded $197,186 to the ESG program, which is a reduction of $2,314 from the anticipated amount.  The community development committee considered the reduced award from HUD at its meetings of June 20, 2017 and July 10, 2017, and concurred with the recommended award reduction, which is consistent with the outline for decreased funding discussed during the Action Plan public hearing and comment period in December 2016.
