CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city council hereby increases the total expenditure of the 2017 CDBG Program by an amount of $27,695 due to an increase in the allocation to the city by HUD from $2,170,000 to $2,197,695, and authorizes changes to contracts as set forth below:

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution is to finalize the 2017 CDBG Program portion of the Community Development program. The city budgeted $2,170,000 for the FY 2017 HUD award to the CDBG program in Resolution 16-0885R. The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2017 CDBG allocation on June 15, 2017 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. The award letter from HUD awarded $2,197,695 to the CDBG program, which is an increase of $27,695 from the anticipated amount. The community development committee considered the revised award from HUD at its meetings of June 20, 2017 and July 10, 2017, and concurred with the recommended modifications, which are consistent with the outline for increased funding discussed during the Action Plan public hearing and comment period in December 2016.
