RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Stack Brothers Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for a Restroom Addition to Lafayette Community Center for a total amount not to exceed $239,000, payable from fund 205-130-1220-5520; Project CM205-restrm (Parks Fund; Community Resources; Parks Capital; Buildings & Structures; Cap Mtce Fund 205, Park’s Restrooms).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: (REPLACEMENT) This resolution authorizes a contract with Stack Brothers Mechanical Contractors, Inc. to construct a restroom addition to the beach side of Lafayette Community Center for an amount not to exceed $239,000.
The project consists of constructing a 20’ x 22’ addition to the beach side of the existing Lafayette Community Center and will provide two public non-gender-specific family restrooms for the beach users. The exterior of the building will match the existing building exterior, and the interior will be masonry block with commercial fixtures. The addition will help reduce the frequency of the public going to the bathroom in the dunes and beach grass.
This project will be funded, in part, by a $100,000 NOAA Coastal Grant awarded to improve water quality. The Park Point Community Club supports this park improvement.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on June 16, 2017, and received four bids as listed below. Stack Brothers Mechanical Contractors, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
