CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with NORDIC Group, Inc. for Harrison Park Improvements Phase I for a total amount not to exceed $132,500, payable from fund 452-030-5530; HANDHTAX-1527-05 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other Than Buildings; Half & Half Tax Projects, Neighborhood Parks, Harrison Park).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with NORDIC Group, Inc. for Harrison Park Improvements Phase I for an amount not to exceed $132,500.
The Harrison Park Improvements Phase I project is part of the larger St. Louis River Corridor Initiative and is based on the recommendations made in the City Council-approved St. Louis River Corridor Neighborhood Parks Mini Master Plans, passed in June 2016. The scope of the project includes removal of the abandoned tennis court, a new walkway connection through the park, a concrete patio and ADA ramp entrance off the back of the building, site lighting, and fence removal.
The St. Louis River Corridor Neighborhood Parks funds are activated by a required $10,000 match from community partners through cash donations, grant funds, in-kind volunteer hours and in-kind materials. The Harrison Park match was met and exceeded by the Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative and the Duluth Community Garden Program with the construction of a community garden in the fall of 2016.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on June 23, 2017, and received four bids as listed below. NORDIC Group, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
