RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS FOR THE DULUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE SECURITY RELATED TO THE 2018 NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE SUPER BOWL AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF REIMBURSEMENT MONIES FROM MINNEAPOLIS FOR SERVICES PROVIDED BY DULUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially the same as the attached exhibit A, with the city of Minneapolis, for the Duluth police department to provide security services related to the 2018 national football league super bowl and related events occurring between January 26, 2018 and February 5, 2018.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept funds from the city of Minneapolis pursuant to the terms of the cooperative agreement, for reimbursement of Duluth police officer wage costs incurred in support of the event, said funds to be deposited in fund number 110-160-1610-4650 (general fund, police, administration and investigation, salary & reimbursement).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute a cooperative agreement with the City of Minneapolis for the Duluth police department to provide security services for the 2018 National Football League Super Bowl and related events to be held in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Bloomington. This resolution further authorizes the city of Duluth to accept monies from Minneapolis to reimburse the Duluth police department for wage costs incurred in providing services under the agreement.
