CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend agreement 22262, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with MSA Professional Services, Inc., for additional professional engineering services for stream design, construction, and restoration for several streams in Duluth, for an additional amount of $140,313.25 for a total amount not to exceed $410,708.25, payable from fund 225-125-1807-5303 (Disaster Recovery Fund; Finance; Parks, Recreation, and Other; Engineering Services), city project numbers 1170, 1290, 1347, 1348, 1349, 1350, 1351, 1352, 1353, 1354, 1355 and 1356.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an amendment to contract 22262 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. to include additional engineering design and construction services related to stream stabilization and restoration projects on Amity Creek, Chester Creek and Miller Creek.  The additional services were requested by city staff and include additional stream design, construction staking and construction inspection.  These services will be fully covered by BWSR grant funds already awarded to the city, and are necessary to comply with stream restoration requirements and contingencies established in the permits issued by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. 

 

The amendment also extends the agreement through December 31, 2018.
