CITY PROPOSAL:

                     RESOLVED, that the city council accepts Laws 2017, 1st Special Session, Chapter 1, Art. 6, Sec. 10 amending Laws 2009, chapter 88, article 5, section 17, as amended by Laws 2010, chapter 382, section 84, adding four parcels of land to the Seaway Port Authority of Duluth’s tax increment financing district and establishing special rules for an interfund loan program.

                     FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city council accepts Laws 2017, 1st Special Session, Chapter 1, Article 5, Section 2, amending Laws 1980, chapter 511, section 2, as amended by Laws 1998, chapter 389, article 8, section 26, Laws 2003, First Special Session chapter 21, article 8, section 12, and Laws 2014, chapter 308, article 3, section 22, changing the boundary line defining the area in which Duluth may spend revenues from its extra half percent motels and hotels tax from 34th Avenue West to 14th Avenue West, including Skyline Parkway and area south.

                     FURTHER RESOLVED, that the clerk shall promptly file with the secretary of state the certification required by Minn. Stats. Sec. 645.021, subd. 3.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution provides the required approval of the state laws that authorize the addition of four parcels of land to the Seaway Port Authority of Duluth’s tax increment financing district and establish special rules for an interfund loan program and change the boundary line defining the area in which Duluth may spend revenues from its extra half percent motel and hotel tax from 34th Avenue West to 14th Avenue West, including Skyline Parkway and area south.
