Title

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BARR ENGINEERING COMPANY INCREASING THE “NOT TO EXCEED” AMOUNT BY $62,500 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT NOT TO EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF $100,000.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an amendment to the professional services agreement (city contract no. 22760) with Barr Engineering Company substantially in the form of that attached hereto as Exhibit A, increasing the not to exceed amount by $62,500 for a total not to exceed amount of $100,000, payable from Fund 255-020-5319.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution will authorize an amendment to contract (C22760) with Barr Engineering Company to increase the “not to exceed” amount from $37,500 to $100,000. Barr is one of three environmental firms procured by the City to provide environmental services such as Phase I and Phase II reports required for redevelopment projects of the City, DEDA and private sector and as paid with the City’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2014 Assessment Grant.  Due to significant demand for this environmental assistance during 2017, the not to exceed amount needs to be increased.  Of note is the expansion of a local manufacturer and their need for Barr to provide significant Phase II investigation to the business’s due diligence requirements.
