CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a three-year lease agreement, substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, with The Hills Youth and Family Services, for the use of space in the Washington Recreation Center.  Monthly rent payments will be $1,062.23 during the first year of the agreement, with an annual increases during the term.  Funds received under this agreement shall be deposited into Fund 110-121-1222-4622 (general fund, public administration, facilities management, rent of buildings).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a three-year lease agreement with The Hills Youth and Family Services (The Hills) for use of space in the Washington Recreation Center for its youth programming and related services.  The Hills provides programming for youth after school and during the summer that includes safe, structured, age-specific, supervised learning activities (the “Services”).  The Services offer academic achievement, cultural awareness, monitoring, healthy lifestyle development, social skill development, physical recreation activities, and service learning opportunities

 

In consideration for the use of space, The Hills will pay the City annual rent of $12,746.76, with annual increases during each year of the agreement. The lease is discounted considerably below market rate in consideration of the community benefit of the services The Hills provides. The Hills will have exclusive use of several rooms, totaling 4,343 square feet.  Under the terms of the agreement, either party may terminate the agreement with sixty (60) days’ written notice.
